From the backstabbing co-worker to the meddling sister-in-law, you are in charge of how you react to the people and events in your life. You can either give negativity power over your life or you can choose happiness instead. Take control and choose to focus on what is important in your life. Those who cannot live fully often become destroyers of life.

Most people would succeed in small things if they were not troubled with great ambitions.
From Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

You could sustain
Or are you comfortable with the pain?
You’ve got no one to blame for your unhappiness
You got yourself into your own mess
Lettin’ your worries pass you by
Don’t you think it’s worth your time
To change your mind?
Some day somebody’s gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don’t you know?
Don’t you know things can change
Things’ll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things’ll go your way
Hold on for one more day
Ah, the 90’s.

I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you
I have run I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
Only to be with you
But I still haven’t found
What I’m looking for
But I still haven’t found
What I’m looking for
I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in her fingertips
It burned like fire
This burning desire
I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone
But I still haven’t found
What I’m looking for
Post vacation depression. Le sigh.

If I went away
Tropical island somewhere sunny every day
But everyone I ever cared about remained
Would I tan or would I fade?
Wandering around the Esplanade in Singapore, my brother, his wife and I chanced upon the band The Cat Empire performing at the waterfront. Their music was catchy and it’s hard to stop yourself from jumping up from your seat to dance to the beat (ew, how corny was that?). Actually, only one guy was brave enough to dance in the front row, while the rest of us gawked and took pictures and videos.

Ouch. So true. My bank account is still suffering.
