I just love carrot cake! And apparently, so does Jake C., so much so that he bugs my mom about it every time they see each other, who in turn bugs me to bake it. Not in a bad bugging way, but you know, in a good bugging way. But hey, don’t think I’m mad about having to do it. I’m not. I love baking! =)

One day on the set, while on break, the conversation somehow veered towards food and “Tom Jones” quipped “Masarap gumawa ng carrot cake yang Tita mo.(Your Tita- meaning auntie,- pertaining to my mom- makes a good carrot cake).” To which Jake quipped “Talaga, Tita?! Dala ka naman! (Really Tita?! Please bring some!)” and to which my mom said “Sure!” Which in turn means I have to bake it, because she’s so busy on the set.

So I finally got around to baking it yesterday. I used a 7 inch pan, much smaller than the one I normally use for the recipe, because its only one person. That means there’s surplus batter. And since I couldn’t find my other 7 inch pan, I used a 6 inch pan and a muffin pan, because even after I poured the batter into the second pan, there was still some left. All in all, I made 2 small cakes and 5 cupcakes. I frosted the cakes with cream cheese frosting. I didn’t get around to frosting the cupcakes because I was already chomping on them. XD

So at around midnight, my mom and I set out to go to the set and deliver the cake. My mom figured it would be a good time to bring it to the set because everyone’s on break at that time. We finally arrive and give the carrot cake to Jake, who was pleasantly surprised and very happy to receive it. He was all smiles as he gave my mom a kiss on the cheek and a very warm hug. I hope he likes it.

Okay, now that I have Jake’s carrot cake out of the way, it’s now time for Mau’s. And yes, my mom said yes.
