Why this day was one of the best ever

  1. The Pasig River Ferry. It sucks that it’s out of the way (unless go back to living in Makati), but the ride down to Escolta is always so relaxing. A great start a day.
  2. Chinese Food. Never a disappointment, specially if it’s fresh dumplings from Dong Bei.
  3. Conversations over coffee. Geisha, geiko and bacon. That’s all there is to say.
  4. Fort Santiago. Definitely the best bargain you can get in Manila. Lovely gardens, crumbling buildings, amazing view of the Pasig River and the cool sea breeze.
  5. Camwhoring. Nevermind that I forgot to charge my camera’s battery. There were plenty of evidences in Eric’s and Melo’s camera.
  6. Traffic-less Sundays. Driving in Manila is made bearable by Sundays and holidays.
  7. Jollibee Chicken Joy. The best food are those that brings back happy memories. Childhood in Manila is made happier with Chicken Joy. (Or at least mine is.)
  8. Paraiso. Help us make a stand. Perfect score!
  9. Great company. Juned, Melo, Eric, Arpee, Noreen, Rael, Rotch, Heinji and Rey.

Busy, or not busy?

Procrastination is evil.

Not the good kind of evil, tool. Hmp.

I have a mile-long to-do list, my inbox never goes below 30 (I leave out the pendings in the inbox; archive or trash it when it’s done), and kits from events are littered around my workplace (the oldest was the Flickr swag from 2007). Heck, even my mail from my first trip to Australia is still here! GAH.

Major cleaning is required. Unfortunately, I can hardly be bothered to organize my things, and when I do, it would go back into the same state of disarray after a couple of days.

I need to clean out my closet as well. People who see me often would note the same rotating shirts and pants. I also have a cabinet full of bags I don’t even use.

Will tomorrow ever come?

Glow in the dark kittens

Today’s WTF moment is brought to you by The Age.

South Korean scientists have cloned cats by manipulating a fluorescent protein gene, a procedure that could help develop treatments for human genetic diseases.

In a side-effect, the cloned cats glow in the dark when exposed to ultraviolet beams.

The cats are cute enough, but I don’t think I can take glow in the dark felines. Even if only under ultraviolet light.

Now that we’re almost halfway through 2007, it’s time to assess how well you’re capitalizing on this year’s unique opportunities. So let me ask you a few pointed questions. Have you been reinventing yourself from the ground up at least once a week? Have you been shedding old shticks and learning new tricks? How relentlessly have you committed yourself to the arts of liberation? There’s still a lot of time to become even more receptive and responsive to the steady stream of wake-up calls that life is sending your way. For the next six months, you’ll have cosmic luck on your side whenever you actively court the fertile blessings of future shock.
