Why this day was one of the best ever July 7

  1. The Pasig River Ferry. It sucks that it’s out of the way (unless go back to living in Makati), but the ride down to Escolta is always so relaxing. A great start a day.
  2. Chinese Food. Never a disappointment, specially if it’s fresh dumplings from Dong Bei.
  3. Conversations over coffee. Geisha, geiko and bacon. That’s all there is to say.
  4. Fort Santiago. Definitely the best bargain you can get in Manila. Lovely gardens, crumbling buildings, amazing view of the Pasig River and the cool sea breeze.
  5. Camwhoring. Nevermind that I forgot to charge my camera’s battery. There were plenty of evidences in Eric’s and Melo’s camera.
  6. Traffic-less Sundays. Driving in Manila is made bearable by Sundays and holidays.
  7. Jollibee Chicken Joy. The best food are those that brings back happy memories. Childhood in Manila is made happier with Chicken Joy. (Or at least mine is.)
  8. Paraiso. Help us make a stand. Perfect score!
  9. Great company. Juned, Melo, Eric, Arpee, Noreen, Rael, Rotch, Heinji and Rey.

Want vs. Need July 3

It’s always a big decision. Should I buy this or not?

Here’s the situation: I want to upgrade my phone. There’s nothing really wrong with it; I can send and receive sms and calls. But it doesn’t have a camera, GPRS and media player.

Of course, the main purpose of a mobile phone is to keep me connected to friends, families and business contacts. My current phone does that. While I do have a pretty good camera, I like having a phone camera for days when I don’t feel like bringing my camera with me. Another upside to having a camera on a phone with a GPRS is that I can send the picture, and have it posted in my blog. As for the media player… well, I like lsitening to the Ievan Polkka when I’m on the go.

The $200 question is, will mobile blogging improve my blog? It’d be fun to take a photo of where I am and then post it to show off to my reader the amazing place I’m exploring while they’re sitting in front of their computers. But this can also be stalker fodder, and I sure as hell don’t want to feed them more information than I’m already giving out.

Do I really need this phone?
