Goals for 2008 January 6
Ah yes, another year, another round of goals. Making my travel goals back in 2006 made me motivated to work hard at achieving them. The uncertainties of 2007 (and the stagerring amount of bills) made me neglect my goals. I’m hoping 2008 would be more certain and less erm, impulsive. (My English fails me!)
- Travel to four out of the six destinations in my travel list for 2008. It’s about time I started seeing more of the Philippines, no?
- Make the most out of my gym membership. I have 4 more months in my membership, and since I’m paying an insane amount of money on it, I might as well get my money’s worth. Even if it’s just to use the steam room for my hot oil treatment.
- Focus on updating my blogs. ALL of them. I currently have four Wordpress installations, two of which I am aiming to monetize. I have two more I need to work on. Money! I need money!
- Manage my Pinky St dolls better. Pinkies are turning into a good investment for me, but I still need to be selective on which ones to sell, which ones to open, and WHEN to sell them.
- Eat out less. Most of my money go to restaurants and cafes. A terrible habit, I know. Though I don’t want to deprive myself, spending less money on the food bill will greatly help to putting money into my travel and Pinky fund. Besides, manga prices are rising.
- Throw out unecessary junk and refrain from getting more. I have WAY too many things that I don’t even use or need. I need to clean out my closet and boko shelves.
- Give out or sell books. In relation to my previous goal, I have several books that I don’t read anymore. E-baying them didn’t really work, but I shall try again. If not, I’ll put them up on BookMooch. If still unsucessful, I’ll just donate them.
Hmmm, this looks more like a to-do list than a list of goals. Lol. In any case, good luck to all of us!

Eargh. Speaking of gym membership. I’m thinking of going back to gym. Blargh!
This monetizing of blogs sounds interesting. It’s been brought up with me before but I wasn’t really listening. But money is good. How does this work?
BookMooch! I’m thinking of joining. Thanks for the link. I brought it up with Camille but she was muttering about a waste of postage. Damn wet blanket.

Gym is evil. And not the good kind of evil.
Blog monetization is a lot more work than they let on. Then again, kina-reer ko na to XD But with a good amount of traffic and some well placed ads, it can work. But don’t expect millions in the first months (unless you’re willing to show an insane amount of skin)
I was actually really excited about Book Mooch (and admittedly, not giving the postage too much thought), until I mailed this book sombody asked me to buy. Let’s just say, if I’m shelling out that much for postage, I might as well buy the book.

Really? I always saw gym as a good sort of evil. Evil that it sucks money out of you but good because it’s fun.
(And yes, everyone I know has always given me this look of disbelief when I use the word fun in the same sentence as gym. But it is/was!)
Show an insane amount of skin?
GO!

Do I owe you more $$$ for postage on that “Vroom” book? Tell me if so….
(I thought everything was cheap where you live. Everything ‘cept postage, huh?)
“Manage my Pinky Street dolls better.” That’s so funny! I admire the way you “monetize” your Pinkys one piece at a time. I’m slowly monetizing my vast hoard of Arc figures — which I couldn’t pass up after you kindly directed me to the bargain-basement source. I sorely wish I could have purchased more of them.
“Throw out unnecessary junk….” Our “goal/to-do” lists look very similar! (I’ve never had much luck selling books on eBay either.)

Amanda: Nobody wants to see your bald chihuahua. Somehow that sounds dirty XD
David: Nope, you sent enough, don’t worry! The postage went up because the padded envelope was big, and obviously, the book weighs a fair bit. But yes, you can trim down the postage cost by folding the envelope so it’s smaller.
As for the Pinkies, I often don’t think far and just sell at random (read: when I’m broke), leaving me with only one unopened Arc (I should have held out and waited to sell her!! But no regrets (not much anyway), she went to great homes .
